Back to Bristol

First things first, welcome to my new site!

Full disclosure about the switch: I was using Wix as my webhost previously. I was not aware that they were a zionist Israeli organization so I have decided to leave their platform and switch to Squarespace. Given the human rights atrocities that are happening in Gaza and West Bank I refuse to give them anymore of my money.

I recently got to go back to Bristol. It was so amazing to properly be in the place I called home first when I left the US. A little backstory, I moved to the UK from the US back in 2016. I have spent a majority of my time traipsing around the UK as an AuPair but I got started with a family in Bristol. So that city has a very special place in my heart.

My partner Abi and I went to Upfest, the street art & graffiti festival that is put on in Bedminster. It was amazing to see these giant pieces of art on the sides of buildings and homes! One of Abi’s friends Daisy Hvnter was a featured artist at the festival as well! (I might be biased but her work was my favourite).

One of the biggest inspirations for me in my photography style is street art. Banksy, Basquiat and Haring are forever my top influences. They are and were progressive thinkers and saw beauty in places where most people wouldn’t. Which is the main thing I’m trying to portray with the pictures I take.

I mean, SURE the landscapes of the Welsh coast are arguably very beautiful so I’m not working that hard to showcase that. However being around it so much can sometimes make people a bit jaded to it. So what I want to do is show that coast, street art, building or flower in a way that makes you look. Instead of walking past it.

I hope I’ve been successful so far…

Enjoy a few pictures from the day!

Til next time… T <3
