A decade of pictures…

2025 marks the tenth year of my journey with photography. It is really quite insane to think that I first picked up a camera a decade ago!

It seems both too long ago and also not long enough. I feel equally qualified and unqualified in this field. 

It has been really fun to look back at the thousands of photos I’ve taken over the years and see what my vision was back then compared to now. In some ways, I almost think I was better back then! When I discovered what I wanted to take pictures of, I shot everything. Every single day. Because of that, I have some amazing shots. I also did much more night photography and that’s absolutely something I want to get back into again.

However, nowadays I have far more focus. I know the direction I want the work to go and I’m much more interested in quality over quantity. I’ve also recently gotten heavily into film photography for a project I am working on this year. So, that has made me far more stingy about what I shoot and how I want my photos to be perceived. 

The number 10 is my favourite number. I wore it back when I played high school basketball. It feels like a lucky number for me. Because of that, I really want to mark this anniversary as a special one. I have so much motivation to push my work to the next level and really showcase this art form that I love so much.

I will thank you, dear reader, in advance for being a part of the ride! I’m so excited to show you what I’ve already done and where I am headed! I’ve got exciting things planned that I’m so jazzed to share with you 🙂
